Bed & Bike la Stalla is a modern guest house equipped with a cycle workshop and e-mountain bike rental.
It is located in Via Pontetto 50 in Montecrestese (VB), a few hundred meters from the exit of the European road E62 (or SS 33) which connects Italy to Switzerland through the Simplon pass. This location is therefore strategic for those passing through as it is located in a quiet area where you can enjoy a relaxing break before or after crossing the Alps at lower prices than in Switzerland.
Furthermore, the structure is located just 10 minutes by car from the Domodossola train station and along the “Circolare Domodossola-Masera-Crevoladossola” bus line.
The location is also ideal for those who want to visit the most famous Ossola valleys such as Vigezzo, Antigorio, Formazza, Divedro, Bognanco, Antrona and Anzasca, or the wilder but equally evocative Val Grande and Valle Agarina.
Bed & Bike la Stalla overlooks a large square where there are numerous free car parks and a charging station for electric cars.
Inside, the guest house enjoys a large garden where guests can enjoy the sun’s rays and relax in the greenery with a view of the splendid Lepontine Alps.
In the surrounding area there are numerous activities including 2 pubs (Gufo’s Pub and Monkey’s Pub), numerous restaurants (including: La Paranza, Gallo Nero, Divin Porcello, Il Paradise), a pharmacy, a well-stocked grocery and tobacco shop (Margherita Conad), a beautician (Estetica Natura di Sharon) and a hairdresser (Angel Hair).
The structure offers two large rooms, a standard double room and a quadruple room (double bed with the addition of a double sofa bed), both with a large private bathroom inside an old, recently renovated farm stable. The rooms are air conditioned and furnished with an industrial and minimal style that delicately fits into the typical characteristics of rural architecture characterized by exposed stone and wood. The ground floor, which at the end of the 19th century served as a stable and shelter for animals, today houses the modern full suspension E-MTBs of Garelli Bike as well as a well-equipped cycle workshop dedicated to guests with bicycles.

The renovation of the old stable wanted to preserve the original shoulders in local beola to preserve the identity and historicity of the building. The new triple-glazed window guarantee sound insulation and comfort during your stay.
Ideal for a couple, is characterized by the attic and the exposed load-bearing beams in local fir that want to combine the ancient Ossola building tradition with the insulation guaranteed by modern construction materials.
A comfortable double bed characterizes the room and guarantees a peaceful rest thanks to a high quality mattress, a topper, and white and fragrant sheets.
The excellent natural lighting, supported by LED light strips with warm light, give a feeling of freshness and relaxation as well as giving spaciousness to the room.
Some parts of the original stone wall have been recovered with a delicate cleaning and removal of the cement covering and enhanced with LED lighting with the aim of maintaining the historicity of the building.
The glass entrance door and the large window give the room a beautiful natural light as well as allowing you to savor the scent of the surrounding fields.
One of the first guests from the USA wanted to pay homage to us with a thought from his land.
On hot days it is possible to use the air conditioner to cool the room, naturally powered by the natural energy of our photovoltaic system.
A trolley with Nespresso coffee ® machine and kettle is available to guests who want to relax with herbal tea or enjoy the energy guaranteed by a good coffee.
The dressing room offers an open wardrobe in bio-larch, ideal for storing suitcases and clothes.

TOCE CYCLE ROUTE – 80 KM OF CYCLE ROUTES
It is a fascinating continuous route along the Toce river, from the bed & bike to the stable through the center of Domodossola and then up to Verbania-Fondotoce, near the Nature Reserve of the same name and back. The Toce cycle route can be used at all times of the year, the level of difficulty is almost always suitable even for less trained cyclists and allows you to admire some of the most fascinating villages, landscapes and views of the entire Val d’Ossola plain .
The Toce Cycle Route is an integral part of route 15 “Svizzera Mare” of the Bicitalia network, considered by the Piedmont Region to be a “route of regional interest”, which connects Locarno, on the Swiss side of Lake Maggiore, to Ventimiglia. The Toce Cycle Route can be traveled in its entirety or by following four thematic itineraries (Toce Cycle Route: cycling among the flowers, among the villages, among the rivers, among the woods) proposed in the individual sheets of this site, where they are also published the .kml tracks for Google Earth updated and downloadable directly.
DOWNHILL IN THE OSSOLA VALLEY
Various downhill routes have been developed in Val d’Ossola, a practice that is now very widespread even in the Ossola mountains, thanks to ideal conformations for hosting adrenaline-filled itineraries. Downhill is a perfect discipline for lovers of sporting adventure thanks to tracks with significant differences in height and medium lengths, prepared on even very steep slopes and with natural or artificial obstacles.
In Val d’Ossola there are three locations that are increasingly focusing on the valorization of downhill, the Piana di Vigezzo, San Domenico di Varzo, in Valle Divedro and Domobianca 365, on the hills of Domodossola.

ROOM 1
Room 1 is a large double room, bright and with a very high ceiling. It can be dedicated to single use or for two people.
The wooden beams and some parts of the original stone wall left exposed characterize it together with a spacious and comfortable bed.
It has: air conditioning, coffee machine and kettle, 42″ Smart TV, sheets, towels and soaps.
There is also an anteroom in which there is a bio larch coat hanger and a bathroom with a modern and functional shower.
ROOM 2+2
Room 2+2 is a large double room, bright and equipped with a mezzanine on which the main double bed and an ancient local stone balcony are located.
The wooden beams and some parts of the original stone wall left exposed characterize it together with a spacious and comfortable bed. In the room there is a sofa bed which, once opened, creates a second double bed and can accommodate up to 4 people.
In this room, upon request, it is possible to add a cot for children up to 3 years old.
It has: air conditioning, coffee machine and kettle, 42″ Smart TV, sheets, towels and soaps.
There is also an anteroom in which there is a bio larch coat hanger and a bathroom with a modern and functional shower.
